Stay away from Just Energy
This is one of the worst electric providers i have signed up with. The rates were high when I signed up but as the rates were going down, I called them several times to see if they can move me to a cheaper plan which they were offering to their new customers. Zero help from their customer service. They keep saying that you can switch anytime but all their plans are expensive and want to lock you into a 60 month plan. I have never paid so much for electricity in the last 3 years together what I have paid in the last 4 months with Just Energy. I finally switched to another provider even if I have to pay the termination fee of $175. It will still work out better for me in the long run. You have been warned. — George from Coppell TX

Honest, straight forward policies

I have been with Just Energy since May 2009 - I have found them cooperative and pleasant. They explained to me my alternatives. They have unfortunately been blamed for "Ercot" charges. They offer a bundled rate - their contract is very fair. I have read it. Those that complain do not realize how much the would be paying with their old supplier. Concering Just Energy
I am a customer and an Employee of Just Energy since 2008. I have also taken advantage of their green energy program. I am not writing on here to convince people to take this program, it truely speaks for itself. Although our NY market is relatively new and I have not seen the end of a 5 year program. I am aware of their high percentage of customers, North America Wide, that resign after their term ends. I'm sure most people realize that people are more likely to call and complain than they are to call and make a complement. I'm just not sure people are fully aware of what this company is capable of.

I had originally given a poor review and wished the death of this company. I change my mind. I had a contract for 16.3/kwh when the rates were in the 20's 3 years ago. I finally decided I would pay the fee for ending the contract early and called them about 3 times and sent several emails asking how much the fee would be and then letting them know that I was going to another company for a better rate if they would not reduce my rate without penalty. They did! My rate went from 16.3 to 10.5 immediately, as I said after about a month of calling and emailing. Also, it wasn't as low as I requested. I wanted 9.0 which was what I saw as the average for the competitors. I am satisfied with JustEnergy at this point.

They have a lot of offers, variable plus fixed 1 year up to 5 years. I ended up choosing a 1 year fixed with them, as I have a 1 year lease. Green was 2c more but I opted not to for the time being.
A friend told me about them. Although, I chose them because the price was great, got a bonus gift card, and they are a big name.
Customer service call was almost flawless, got put on hold for a few minutes while they checked credit.

I've had Just Energy for 3 months, and I've been astonished with the price primarily. I have the 40% green option and even with that, my bill has never been more than $20. Before this my bills were always between $55-$60. I'm very happy with the savings I'm making!!!! I am telling everyone about this company. I would recommend it 100%.

I switched from TXU last year to Just Energy and I highly reccomend anyone who has had it with the big monopolized companies like TXU. My bills used to average about 200.00 monthly with TXU and now for a little over a year with Just Energy we have had 100.00 average bills now!!!! Thank yo Just Energy and also everytime I talk to any customer service agent they are in USA NOT OUTSOURCED like TXU ot Direct Energy who is a subsidiary of Centrica a Brittish company. Just Energy has the most beneficial electricity program that can be offered for commercial or residential. The longer the protection, the better in the long run for my accounts and my budget. Who wouldn't want to lock in the price of anything for 5 years? The cost of everything goes up constantly, but not my electric bills! :)

They can't please everybody but needless to say they have A- with the better business bearau. I was always very skeptical about choosing a supply company, and read a lot of bad reviews, but I still decided to give it a try. Now that I have been a Just Energy customer for well over 2 years I have to say it was the best decision I ever made for myself. Now that I understand how this program works and all of the terms, I'm able to see that a majority of these bad reviews are from people whom are confusing Just Energy for different supply programs. The terms are simple and easy to understand and my rep was very professional and polite. I did take advantage of the option to lock my gas and electric rates a few months back and now my energy cost are so much lower than the utility, and my cost won't change for the rest of my term. This company is so awesome and honest. I have recommended it to all of my friends and family. I really hope people get their facts straight before posting complaints about this company cause it is making them seem oh so silly.

I had no problems with just energy. I think the key to this is to pay your bill on time. My reason for switching was due to price. I am of the opinion that no electrical provider has better electricity than the other, therefore my biggest concerns are pricing and service. A lot of problems can be alleviated by reading your EFL and asking questions about things that you do not understand. During my contract I found their reps. to be courteous and friendly.

A just energy sales men came to my door explaining to me that my rate was eligible to go down and that I was paying a separate delivery charge to centerpoint. So when I realized reliant was charging me 18 cents I automatically was down to switch...then I went online and looked at the reviews and almost shitted on myself. I was so scared I had been ripped off and scammed. Anyway I planned to cancel but ended up forgetting and got my first bill a little over a month later and man was I surprised! I saved almost $100!!! What I will say is the rep was very honest with me. She told me that there were cancellation fees but IF I call the 1888 number on the top of my contract they would be waived. You have to call for them to be waived. I've been having them for 6 months now and as a previous loyal reliant customer I must say I don't regret switching. I've also heard they have a new program

I had my first door to door with keisha a couple of months ago.She had an accent and I found out she was from New York. Don't usually talk to anyone who knocks on my door. I was hesitant on giving her my bill, but she was more helpful than anything. She broke down my bill for me showed me my true rate and then explained to me what just energy offers. I have seen the bad reviews from the past and told her I didn't know. She understood didn't push it. I finally said let me sign up cause I felt this really can help me from what she showed me. Everything she told me was true, she was straightforward, very confident, patient and she wasn't trying to push me to get it. Sounds like they just need more door door people with her smile and honesty. I am happy with my bill and will remain a customer. If I had any problems she also informed me to contact her directly so that she is aware and can address the situation as soon a possible. Just Energy does have good people working for them!

First of all my electric bill has been about 15% less overall than my previous electric company's bill. Secondly, I was recently laid off from work and have had a lot of problems making ends meet. Just energy has actually cancelled late fees and given me all the extensions I needed during these hard times. Also their rewards for customer loyalty aren't half bad. I highly recommend them.

I was told that the bill will be cheaper, but when I saw a bill today. It's higher than what I got charged from another electric company. Sams Club is the place to go!
I was approached by a young lady in a Sams Club. I was hesitant to switch after having been with Gexa for over 6 years. My bill got cut down by over a third and now in the peak of summertime, my bill is $103 for a 4 bedroom with the free nights plan versus last summer I was paying over $400. I LOVE JUST ENERGY!

I am a customer of Just Energy and and employee as well. The only time my bills are high is around Christmas time with all the lights we have on. My contract is almost up and I will resign with them; not just becasue I work there but because they do save me money. If you are being over charged...look at your usage and multiple...do the math. It is not that complex. If you are not getting an actual meter read...then call centerpoint. complain to them since all Just Energy does is bill you for what is used. We don't service you or read your meters. Get Educated!

I have enjoyed 8 cents a killowatt for 12 months. My contract is up in a few days and now their cheapest killowatt per hour is 11 cents. So I'm shopping around.

I've had a great experience in signing with Just energy. They are the largest green energy provider in north America. They can't please everybody but needless to say they have A- with the better business bearau. I completely reccomend Just Energy because I don't have to keep renewing my contract every one or two years. They also have all inclusive rates no charge on supply and delivery on my contract. Get Just Energy.

I did not have a problem with my gas when I had an account. The apartment I was living in had a fire so I had to cancel my service. I was suppose to get my deposit back but for about 2 months they have been telling lie after lie about my deposit the Reps wont let me speak to a supervisor. It's not a lot of money but like they want the monies for their services I want my deposit back. I Rep told me 3 weeks when the 3 weeks came i called back now they tell me it was applied to my account what account? Another told me they sent it to the bank.what bank.i never gave them any bank info. Why is it so hard to get my monies or even get the truth from this company. So For the last month I have been dealing with just energy and direct energy. I canceled with direct energy for other reasons and continued with Just Energy. My power recently got cut off today due to someones negligence. I signed up for both electricity and gas and apparently have only been getting billed for gas? So I am now on a timer for the next couple days. I am not impressed! I love Just Energy and I want to stay but what happened ??! I am super disappointed.

I have been with Just for over 7 years never had a problem paying my bill on the phone till June and July called the number as I have before and paid the bill and next day check my account and had been charged twice call just and was told they only show being charged 1 time after talking to people I got a lady from Houston who straight it out then paid my bill in July and was charged twice again talked with customer services and got it straightened out again yesterday I received a email stating my bank refused payment called and sent a copy of bank statements to them was told they would look it then was told it a problem with my bank called them and was informed that they refunded one of the July double charges but just energy was paid called just again was told they never double charged at all that why I sent them the statement so just waiting for some one to figure out what they are doing cause everytime I call and get a person have to tell my story over and over and get a different answer. I did ask to speak to the lady I talked to on July 12 but according to my history their was no name of the person I called I find that hard to believe

Just try calling 1-866-5878674. It's a joke. Long delays I between selections. You'll get disconnected for no reason. No call back when you leave your call back number Ect. Plus i am reporting them to the PUC for charging way more than stated on the facts sheet. Just switched to stream energy. Forget about the 2 $75.00 gift cards for the 2 accounts I had.

Month 1 your bill be $70... Month 5 your bill will be $250... they increase in increments every month. I tested them by leaving out of town or 21 days... with all lights and ac off... and my bill was even higher than when i was there the full month... They will play games with your meter read and hustle you out your money .

I've been with Just Energy a little over a year. Not once have I had a good customer service experience. Workers speak as if they are in a rush to get off the phone with you and don't take time to explain answers. One example is when I was renewing my contract. I spoke with an individual who was extremely hurried to get me off the phone and failed to answer most of my questions about billing/rates. Their rates are not terrible, but I won't continue to give my money to a company where workers don't feel the need to be polite when answering calls.

I was actually trying to reach Reliant energy when I was searching for an energy company to use when I moved into my apartment but somehow the number I called routed me to Just Energy. The gentleman I talked was very polite and positive as we discussed how Just Energy was actually better on price because they do not use a pass through charge like everyone else does and that there was no contract cancellation fees like everyone etc.. etc...So I complied with signing up with Just Energy, moved into my apartment and have never had a problem with my energy, until my bill came. I have a 644 sqft apartment that I am at barley 4 hours a day minus 8 hours of sleep (but everything is as it is as if I'm gone when I am asleep). Long story short, the only thing running during the day is my AC set at 80 and my refrigerator. Now here comes the downfall, with just my fridge and ac running, and 3 hours of tv a day apparently I'm using 758kwh at .095 cents, no way, so I check my bill, well on my bill I have a PASS THROUGH charge which I was told they do not do, first lie, secondly I'm thinking to my self theres no way and I'm just gonna change companies since there is no cancellation fee, wrong, second lie, $75 dollars to cancel.In conclusion, I think Just Energy may be a large company but there core basis of business is designed like a car dealership where as it uses flashy shiny phrases to lure you in and then lie and steal your money like a bunch of crooks. Would not recommend.

Just energy disappointed me at the beginning when I signed on for a new account. I signed on for one year, but when I received my first bill it listed my contract for three years. I called and disputed this contract but they advised that their records reflected a 3 year account, Since the rate was reasonable, I did not pursue a prolonged complaint process. On November 18, 2017, I received a notice that my plan will expire on 1/2/2018. "NO TERMINATION FEE SHALL APPLY IF YOU TERMINATE YOUR CONTRACT 14 DAYS PRIOR TO 1/2/2018. AND IF YOU CALL US AT 1.877.240.3931 YOU CAN CANCEL AT ANY TIME WITHOUT A TERMINATION FEE.I contacted a Just energy rep to advise that I was changing to another provider and wanted to notify Just that I was changing and inquired about the termination fee. The rep said no problem, there's never a termination fee. But When I received my final bill, there is a $175 exit fee - which to me is the same as a termination fee. This is really deceptive and misleading to the customer. I plan to pursue this deceptive practice with the Public Utility /commission and Texas Attorney General Office. Even though I will pay this disputed exit fee, I am now very distrustful of just Energy and will not recommend Just Energy to my friends or family.

I've been a customer for 5 years pay my bills on time and never had any problems until the last couple of months. Customer service fail to follow through on the contract that I needed to place after mine expired. They said they call me they never did and they never left a message and called me a liar as to a new contract in new rates. I've called several times they have gouged me on my last bill because I didn't have a contract and they charge me $0.16 per kilowatt which I find very disgusting. All my other bills were at 12 and 13 cents per kilowatt I will never do business with anybody that treats me like you have treated me again. I called and requested a rewrite change on my last bill because I do live on Social Security and I can't pay the whole bill if that gouging rate. I have never been so insulted in my life do not ever do business with these people they told me no unless I sign a new contract at an outrageous and they have no good plans available I've already been offered a better plan with $100 signing bonus. Never been so disgusted my life with an electrical provider don't ever use these people and don't believe all the good comments

We are moving and I added my new address to the existing plan with Just Energy and wanted to EXTEND the power for my current house until we can sell it, but after I added my 2nd house the killed my portal access. Not that I forgot my password I mean my email is NOT IN THEIR SYSTEM!!!!!!! What stupid group of idiots do that? So when I call, I cannot get a sole to answer the damn phone. I was on hold for over an hour yesterday WAITING! Then I was prompted to have someone call me back... I got a call from the state of Washington from a Hudson Electric and when I explained my problem they were going to transfer me and I was dropped... yep they dropped my call. Someone from this POS company had better answer the flipping phone or write me back ASAP or I will process with my report to the Utilities Commission about this horrible service. BTW I rate their Customer Service as a 0 but this stupid system requires an answer.

When they called me I told them I would pay it within a couple of weeks. I was told that if it wasn't paid now, they would cut my power off during 108 degree days. Only time I was ever late, I couldn't believe they would even threaten to leave a senior without power in July.

After many calls today, I finally got through. Your system was literally dropping me with no voice mail or messages. When I got through, your rep was very friendly and helpful, but gave me some interesting information.
NO REQUEST to process my credit balance was ever submitted by JUST NRG, after two months. How long would you have left that balance outstanding if I didnt call?
Even though you are quite eager to receive customer funds to pay for bills, apparently you are incapable of processing a refund/credit balance. Instead, JUST NRG prefers to take an excessive amount of time (6-8 WEEKS? Seriously?) to create a paper cheque and mail it out.
Are you aware that you then are paying for the paper cheque forms, and for postage? And this is supposed to be more effective HOW?
And the reason for the delay must either be due to poor or inefficient process policies or for underhanded marketing.
Either way, it does not look good to the quality of the management of JUST NRG. Obviously your shareholders come first before your customers. A good marketing person will tell you that if you upset ONE customer, they tell two others, and they tell two others, and so on.

I was hospitalized for a month. During this time my family moved my belongings out my apartment. My bill was not paid while I was hospitalized. On the day after being released, I paid my bill in full. Later that day, I received a text about my account. Upon calling the number, the agent was rude about the questions I asked. I also asked about my Just Energy Peak Points, that I accumulated doing paying my bill on time and I thought I was a valued customer. Have about 9,500 points which I can covert to a gift cards. I feel disrespected by this company, because I had illness, and needed to hospitalized, I been denied of points, I earned. And the by the way, I was in the V.A. Hospital.

Okay, well, you JUST LOST A CUSTOMER. Thanks for showing your TRUE colors in this time when you could have been much more supportive. Apparently, your last communication that said, "We are working with your utility company to get actual usage for these days, which means the actual usage would be zero during the times your power was out. If applicable, you will see adjustments in the coming days," was just trying to placate a customer. And even though you claim that the price per kwh did not increase with the exorbitant rates of ERCOT, you figured out a way to make up that money. Very creative. I STILL DID NOT HAVE ELECTRICITY for 3 days in which YOU claim I used about 277 kWh of electricity. So GOOD JOB. You know, I wasn't asking for the whole bill to be reassessed and CORRECTED. Just the days that I KNOW I had no electricity usage. Shame on you. I understand everything you said about increased usage during colder weather. That all makes sense. What makes NO SENSE is that you can't even admit the estimation, or worse, the falsification of the energy usage during the days when there was no power. How ludicrous! I realize YOU hold all the leverage: if I don't pay the falsified bill, you will suspend my service and report it to the credit bureaus. But I can do some things. I will be very aggressive in letting everyone I know that this company falsifies meter readings and is REALLY NOT THAT INTERESTED in customer service.I will contact Sam's Club home office to let them know my dissatisfaction with this company that they supported. Hopefully, they will see you for what you are. I will also post reviews EVERYWHERE possible to alert others about your refusal to even admit that you do what you do.

I started today out by chatting with Anita who couldnt understand what I was typing and directed me to sign in to my account, where I clicked on chat again and viola...ANITA. I then attempt to ask questions thinking ok I am logged in, verified this should be easy peasy...nope. I was redirected to an agent who wasnt helpful at all either barely allowed any time to ask a question before closing out the conversation. So I decided to call in...bad move. K spoke with Paul first who was so rude no empathy hugging and puffing like he was annoyed by me when he asked me for my account # and I said oh ok hold on let me get it but it was ok for him to ask me for my name that I had given him at the beginning of the call. Paul proceeded to assist. I let Paul know I have been out of work since 7/30, due 3 of my younger kids getting Covid then I did myself. I returned to work today and also received a disconnect notice with today date over the weekend. I let him know I am not able to pay anything
today, need to know my options. Paul
proceeded to answer, without even acknowledging the fact that k had Covid no empathy anything. He let me know I could pay $156 and some change within 24 hrs of today and remaining amount within 10
Days. He stated my disconnect date was actually today so it needs to be paid today or my services will be disconnected tomorrow. I let him know thats not possible tried to let him know I understand the payment arrangement great can I get a couple more days on the disconnect date or protection on my account at least until 8/25 which I can pay then he of course says no and tells me to call 2-1-1. I couldnt believe this so I request a supervisor. He transfers me to Jabeed who is apart of the escalation que. Jabeed comes on the phone guns a blazing. I ask him for his name and he tells me I need to listen to him cause he is going to tell me what to do. I am instantly offended. He begins to huff and puff annoyed and ready to react to my request instead of respond based on what he heard from Paul. His introduction to our convo set the tone for the call. He told me I need to pay half today and the remaining amount in 10 days. I let him know I cant pay until 8/27, 4 more days I need my account to be protected until that date and then I can pay the remaining half the following Friday on 9/3. He refused to work with me and advised me to call 211 and maybe they can help me even though my electricity will be disconnected tomorrow, 2 of your representatives gave me this an option. Even so kindly told me there were no disconnect notices sent out in February what does that have to do with today?? I paid on time then. I had already confirmed he was apart of an escalation team not a supervisor AP k then requested a supervisor and he refused. Gave the standard reply for your company, his words not mine. I cant speak with anyone above him cause he has to email someone and they call me back within 24-28 hrs. I explained to him several times how would that help me if I have a disconnect notice for today? I would not hang up until I spoke with someone. He continued to be rude then he just went silent for about 15 minutes no hold music hoping I would hang up. I said hello no response then I let him know if he placed me on hold he should have actually placed me on hold so I could hear the music. He begins to say he didnt put me on hold but couldnt explain why he went silent he was not reaching out to a supervisor at the time. I explained to Jabeed several times that I only needed time to pay until 8/25 I could pay half of the balance and remaining amount by 9/3. He insisted I could not pay by then. I mentioned the notice I have shows 8/24. At this point is when I realized Jabeed had not actually reviews my account, as he stated hold on let me review your account to see the disconnect date. This was an hour into the call. He only provided me with information given by Paul. They were set to show me, and they did. AN ENTIRE HOUR BEFORE HE REVIEWED MY ACCOUNT. He apologized for this and at this point he FINALLY began to message his supervisor in an attempt to resolve this issue. His supervisor which is a she refused to speak with me and he refused to give me her name. In order to at least protect my account until 11:59pm on 8/24 as Jabeed mentioned, I agreed to the arrangement he offered to pay 25% of the past due amount. When he was setting this arrangement up at that moment he realized that I did have until 8/25 at 11:59pm to pay not 8/24 at 11:59pm. We went through all this for it to be as I requested. He so rudely told me, you didnt say 8/25. I reminded me of how many times I mentioned that date but he didnt hear me cause he refused to help me. We set the arrangement up and I am still unsure if it is correct since my confidence in Jabeed in this company is so low. This representative, Paul, and the supervisor that assisted treated me so unfairly just to be right and bottom line cruel. They didnt listen they saw my name heard my voice and instantly made the decision to not help me. I cant help but wonder if they saw the name Karen, would they have given better assistance. Is this how your company trains to treat your customers? Especially during times such as these?? He was so belittling and disrespectful when all I need was for my account to be protected from disconnection until 8/26 instead o8/24 cause I could make the half payment on 8/25 at this point to appease this company. I refused to go to 2-1-1. Thats for customers who truly need assistance, I can pay. I just fell on hard times. I have referred 6 of my family members to this company and my daughter is enrolling in September and I am up for renewal. I would like for an AVP or above to call me back ASAP. Not a team lead, supervisor, or anything of that nature. The supervisors name couldnt be given but they even refused to allow me until 8/25 to pay. 1 hour and 30 minutes later I got the results I needed...I hope. Instead of paying 25% as he offered I am paying 50% of the last due amount on 8/25 and remaining amount on 9/3. I have never been so disrespected when I was with Stream and when this contract is up that is who I am returning to.

It is egregious and greedy to send out and charge a $20 Notice of Disconnect three days after the due date on a residential account. The late fee charged is reasonable and appropriate in that timeframe. But the $20 Notice of Disconnect three days after the due date is a greedy and a desperate over reach.Since Just Energy ( the owner of Amigo, Hudson, Tara and others) is trying to bounce back from its bankruptcy you would think the best approach would be to attract and retain customers, not shake them down for a one time fee and risk the customer getting upset and leaving Just Energy, and letting everyone they know not to use them.I also feel it is dishonest and sneaky that the portal had the "Pay" amount to include the $20 fee but no where on the site did I see an itemized charge for $20 DN - I discovered it by calling Just and questioning the charge. It is likely an intended tactic so that the unsuspecting customer doesn't realize what they are charged and will likely get hit with a similar charge in the future.

I have been a loyal customer of Just Energy for several years. At the start their rates were reasonable and their customer service was decent. However since 2020/2021 my bill as nearly tripled for the same plan/rate I have had. Without changing anything at home, my thermostat is set to 80 until 9 pm at night. And resets at 80 starting at 8:00 am. I am on the free nights plan and my bill was $400 for a little over 1,000 sq. Ft. Home. On average my bill is around $150 during hotter months. I attempted to speak with customer service and their response was due to the current market climate and sent a list on what I can do: weather stripping windows and etc. I will be looking to change and go else where for my energy provider.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE I'VE EVER HAD
I have been with this company for years! It was great at 1st. I have a rental home that I needed to complete work at for a couple months. I called to connect service as I have service at my primary residence. I was given my same terms I have on my current account. I had issues immediately. I started getting calls and bills in spanish right away. I tried to get that fixed and was told they could not change it. I was told all I had to do was call to cancel and there would be no fees. I was told there was nothing else I had to do. I paid my bills while I was doing work. I completed the work and the service was cancelled. I was charged a $175 cancellation fee. I have had to call several times trying to get this fixed and I keep getting the run around. I have talked to 2 escalation managers and been given conflicting info. The 1st one (Angel)said he fixed my issues and the fee would come off in about 6 days. It didnt. I called and talked to another one (Murali) who was so rude and not helpful or understanding at all. He actually laughed at one point. I told him many times I did not wish to speak to him anymore and wanted to talk to his boss. He denied me this for quite a while before our call ended somehow at 56 mins! He called back minutes later and said he would put in request for me to talk to his boss and the boss would call me within 48 hrs. It never happend. I since sent a detailed email to customer service addressing all this and never got a response. I have finally filed a complaint with BBB (Better Business Bureau) for 1st time ever in my life in hopes they help resolve this. I have spent hours trying to get this fixed. I want to pay my actual bill. They claim they have calls recorded yet they dont go back and listen. I was told by Murali that Angel did not put anything in the notes and implied I was not telling the truth without actually saying it. Murali was SO RUDE! I just sent another email to another customer service link I found in further hopes this wont get reported to my credit before resolution as I pay my bills. Avoid this company, it has gone to the wayside since the new owner took over it appears

I called the see about when my plan expires before I renew and to of course shop around for best prices elsewhere it need be.. one rep.told me I had until the end of August so when I called back a week later only for them to tell me it was renewed by my husband in early June which he says he didn't authorize it especially for 5years?! that's absurd.

Good company but unethical sales process
I can tell you that the sales process is really pushy and based on lies. The salesperson knew in advance that I was moving out prior to the 12 months, so he assured me that it was ok as long as, the company could not service the area I was moving to. He offered me in march 2022 to pay the early cancelation fee of the other company ($149 USD) in a reimbursement format, plus no cancellation fee at the end. After the conversation, I did everything they told me and they even send an email telling me that this cancellation fee reimbursement will be charged in my last statement. I called back and customer support assured me(again) that the reimbursement will not be charged at any moment.
After I moved (just as I told them in advance) they charged me the $149 USD, after calling back we settle 75 USD less on this fee (thanks to Amita for her support in this matter), however, I feel the responsibility to tell you that if you want to do business with them be very careful with the small letters on their sales process, dont trust anything theyre telling you unless you can have that in a formal email or somewhere. I end up paying $75 USD for being a fool and trusting the other end of the line.
As for the electricity bill, they help me to pay a little less every month, and I didnt have any other problem with them.

I pray they go out of business so that I can get out of this contract. They held my bill in June and July 2009, a couple of the hottest months in Texas and I have to pay a total of $1500 in electrictiy bills. PUCTX writes to ask them for a deferred billing plan but I will be charged late fees because they held my bills!Also, they are now one of the more expensive providers. PUCTX as usual is very unhelpful and is not about consumer protection. I pray JustEnergy/USEnergy goes out of business so I can choose a provider at a better rate. Of course, with them charging nearly 8 cents more per kwh, they can afford to stay in business longer than most.

Signed on with US Energy Savings, with a fixed rate, and the first bill was wonderful, much lower than my previous provider. The next bill wasn't recognized, because it now said Just Energy, so I put it in my junk mail pile. When my lights were disconnected, I learned that Just Energy WAS my electric provider. I saw bills that increased monthly from $300 to $400 to $500 to $600, and cancelled. My final bill with the cancellation is now over $1200--over $800 of that is the cancellation fee. I am a single woman on partial hours and I just feel ROBBED by Just Energy.

Worst Customer service billing experience ever
I have been with this company for over 4 years and finally will change providers. They continously cash my electronic payments then state I didn't pay my bill. I then forward the 3 month history of them actually cashing my cheques and then they change my account status to current. Every month the check is cashed early from my bank and they send me a dissconnect notice every other month. One time they send a bill for over $13,500.00 for usage... My bill averages $250.00/month. It took multiple calls to get them to reverse the charge and correct the bill. They have terrible billing and customer service. This is the first time I have ever actually rated a company but my experience has been so bad for so long I hope a potential future customer can learn from my experience. I will also be forwarding a written complaint to the State energy board. I have never been late on a payment in 4 years but they have disconnected me once due to their own internal accounting issues.

$310 Cancellation fee even if you move
We used them in texas for 3 years. I moved to Ohio. When we signed the contract the person who came on the door said when you move the contact terminates and there is no termination fee. When we moved and sold our house and cancelled the service, they sent me a bill with $310 for contract cancellation fee. I called the CS and told them about the move, she asked me to send the doc proving the move and assured everything will be settled. I got call another day for the same reason, I explained the person on the phone, he said that you will get a final bill with $0 balance and gave me the confirmation #. Even afetr this they kept calling me everyday (automated calls ask you to press #1 and put u on hold for 3mins to talk to real person). These people were very rude and kept asking for $310 even if i explained that the account is settled. I don't know what to do as they are complete liers. Don't ever even consider their service. They knock your door give you the best rate which is only good for 6months. Don't sign anything just by bilieveing the person who knocked on your door or on the phone.

I signed up with Just Energy from The Power to Choose website. They were supposed to turn on my electricity on July 13th, but did not. Only July 16th-I still had no service and they would not expedite my installation request and said July 19th was the earliest they could get it set up. I ended up having to switch to Reliant Energy who got out the same day as I asked (July 17th). I talked to the director along with others at Just Energy and they ensured me that they cancelled my request on the 19th. Today, I got a bill in the mail from Reliant Energy for only 2 days - Just Energy never cancelled the request for the 19th and took over my service anyway (without my knowledge). Now I cannot switch back to Reliant because my account is frozen for only being activated for 2 days. DO NOT EVER SIGN UP WITH JUST ENERGY!!! It's the biggest mess that I've ever had to deal with. They make claims and will not even give you a confirmation number so there is not way to even have evidence of anything that happens. I am on the phone now waiting to talk to someone and it's already been 30 minutes and I haven't gotten through to anyone. The wait time to speak to a representative has been over 30 minutes EVERY time i've called. If you don't want to sit on hold in tears dealing with idiotic people for hours of your life - DO NOT GO WITH JUST ENERGY!!!!!!

I moved and orginally called about Gexa energy but the lady informed me I could get cheaper energy. Which is with this crappy company. First bill was $68 with the $9.95 service charge for 4 days worth of service with 3 kwh of usage...are you kidding me? Everything has been fine for the last 4 months until this bill. A $3.50 charge for not choosing to do E-bill and a $4.95 charge for bill pay because I use the automated service and not the auto pay.I called to ask them and the customer service idiot informed me he could help but could only keep me on the line for 5 minutes because of other customers calling in. Mind you I was on hold myself for 45 minutes waiting on someone to answer the phone. Poor customer service. Signed a one year contract to match my lease (thank God only one year). Signing up was very easy and quick, however when I started getting my bills I was being charged almost $20 a month in BS fees. $10 for paper billing, several dollars for manual payment (mailing in a check), fee's for online payments, etc... They were very rude when I called them on the fee's (and it took several calls and hours to finally get them stopped and partially refunded). After all this our rate is still more than two cents higher than most other plans. I cannot wait to get rid of this shady supplier!

Avoid Just Energy, Rates are higher than utility with hidden cancellation fees
Just Energy's sales people will mislead you in the sales process to believe that their company's rates are lower, and that there are no cancellation fees. In fact when I checked my bill, my rates had jumped over 20%, and the demanded a $50 cancellation fee. I was told I could NOT speak to a manager in the service division, and their conflict resolution team has not yet produced my contract or voice recordings approving the transfer.
Stay away from this company, their sales practices are unethical and misleading. If you have friends that signed up for their "Lower Rates" do them a favor and help them get out as soon as possible.

They offer the lowest price for the first month, which is 0.08 for only first month and from second bill it is based on market price. But even for the first month it is a lie. They always sending the first bill for 4-5 days, since they are going to give you the bill from the second bill as higher price based on the market price.
they said this is because you order was at the middle of the cycle and it is out of our hand. We send you bill at the time that center point check your meter. But I don't believe it.
The other thing, you have to be careful with the customer service, they will tell you something and then again that charge will be appear at your next month bill. Again you have to call them to dispute. They will waive it but as a favor not this was their fault. This way some people will be tired and not calling them. Just imagine how much they can earn if they make such mistakes in their thousands customer bills.

I don't even know where to begin. My bills are always incorrect for starters. The bill I received yesterday via email wasn't even mine, it was for a commercial account although it had my account number on it. Several months ago I signed up for auto debit so I wouldn't get late notices HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I still received late notices, guess what folks?? Takes two months for JUST ENERGY to set you up for auto pay (which they don't tell you) so unless you are totally on top of everything you get a late notice with fees...took me an hour on HOLD before I finally spoke to a rep I could not understand well. To top it off, I started receiving PINK late notices on bills that had been paid for months ??? I can't even explain this to the rep because we can't communicate well enough for me to explain the mass confusion. TODAY I said to hell with this S*** I switched energy providers, I will FIGHT the cancellation fee although I know they will most likely win because they are so unprofessional and you finally give up !!! I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I love the Lord, and I don't like to speak poorly on people, but the truth must be shared. This is the worst experience I have ever had with ANY utility company since I got my first place in 1999. I feel cheated and abused. Please read the reviews on this company and turn around now. Your bank account and sanity will be thankful.

I signed with just energy for a cheaper bill according to them. Two months after signing with them my bill kept going up and up. Turns out they were charging much more than duke energy. My first bill was 20.00 more than normal. SO, I started using less electric and not cooking as much thinking that would help. Ha, silly me a month with less usage and no ac and my next bill was even more!!! These people are liars and will tell you anything to get your business. Don't end up like me, duke is a pain in the butt, but better than these liars! The government should be ashamed sending these people out. Some help that's supposed to ae.

JUST ENERGY IS A VULTURE LOOKING FOR PREY:
When I called to check their rates and programs I got a very good salesman and no matter how many times I told him I wanted to think about switching overnight he just would not take no for an answer. He finally said dont worry you have 3 days to change your mind before any of this takes effect. DO NOT BELIEVE that scam because that was June 12th and over two months later I am still trying to get everything straightened out and get my $114.43 back that they took out of my checking account. Technically they said I had an account with Just Energy less than 10 hours. Every time I call customer service all I hear is YES, I DO UNDERSTAND, yes and I see you have been calling, this process takes 7 to 10 business days, nothing happens you call back - well that takes another 3 to 7 business days, then we go back to yes I understand but this will take another 3 to 10 business days. We are talking about EFT it does not take 5 minutes to have funds electronic transferred thought the world much less in the US. Why dont they just confess to the public they do not have the funds to refund a persons money? PLEASE DO NOT TRUST THEM find another provider for electrical service.

I believe that Just Energy and their promotion company conspired to mis-apply my payments and therefore DID NOT SEND THE TWO (2) $75 VISA REWARD CARDS which I should have received. Briefly this is what occurred: (1st) The Just Energy promotion company opened an account prematurely, July 5, 2012, while I was under contract with TXU although I clearly informed him that I was calling to get information on Just Energy's various plans. Two days after he opened the account I became aware of the situation and immediately cancelled the Just Energy account and paid in full for those two days of service while I was under contract with TXU. After my contract ended with TXU, I opened a Just Energy account,8-23-2012. During the first six (6) months. my payments were miss-applied three (3) times! The first payment was applied to the account that was erroneously opened when I was under contract with TXU. (2nd) A payment was processed exactly $20 less than the amount of the check. (3rd) Both of these situations resulted in penalties - however all penalties and fees were removed, after my repeated phone calls, because the mistakes were clearly made by Just Energy and not my mistakes. I made numerous phone calls in my efforts to receive the two $75 Visa Reward cards and followed the instructions provided by the Just Energy employees. The Visa cards were not sent to me. Next, I wrote letters, with supporting documentation, to the Just Energy payment processing office and corporate offices on two separate occasions - NEVER HAVE I HAD A REPLY, NOR HAVE I RECEIVED THE TWO VISA CARDS WHICH I CLEARLY EARNED BY TIMELY FOLLOWING THE GUIDELINES OF THEIR PROMOTION OFFER. KNOW THAT I ALWAYS PAY MY BILLS IN FULL AND PRIOR TO THE DUE DAY. JUST ENERGY CHEATED ME. ALL THE MISTAKES WERE MADE BY JUST ENERGY. THIS WAS CLEARLY ACKNOWLEDGED AS THEY REMOVED ALL PENALTIES. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!

With the promise of lower electric bills i signed up with the door to door salesman. First mistake! After a month my bills doubled. I ended up moving and it just got worse. The first month i Received my bill from my previous address...i paid it in full. Then i Received a disconnection notice for my new address. When i called i was told that no billing arrangements had been set up??? How do you provide service & not send a bill? So i paid the bill and their Rediculous charges. Now I'm facing another sky-high bill and another disconnection, along with a threatening bill for collections stating that i owe $ from my previous address. Nothing about this company is honest, and they dont give a shit whether you struggle, they are in the game the Deceive people and steal $$. I will not be paying this obsurd bill this time they can shove it. I am lodging complaints with anyone who will listen. These are not fair or honest business practices.

THEY WILL CUT YOUR ELECTRICITY OFF QUICKLY.
I have had electricity with Reliant and Direct Energy - and been happy with them. They upped their rates, so I shopped around. But, last year I was offered a rate that was very low with Just Energy. They have threated me with disconnection the very next day after a bill is due. I have never seen such quick threats to disconnect in 20+ years of electric companies. Bad way to treat your customers. And Just Energy is very quick to cut off your electricity. I found out the hard way. So quick in fact that it border lines on illegal. They sent notice for a bill due on the 16th via email. I have been busy and didn't check it for a few days. Then I was sent a envelope in the mail...not another email or a call. No that would be too nice and friendly of them. This notice I received it in my mail on the 22nd. Unfortunately, I simply forgot to get to my mail and didn't realize it was a disconnection notice and not a reminder. Just Energy cut my electricity off on the 30th - that is just 8 days after the notice came in the mail. No calls, no messages, no additional notice. I paid by phone and it was back on shortly, I was glad for that. I have had homes and electric bills since 1995 not a single company was so quick to cut my electricity off. I was shocked. I called to find out how I could prevent this in the future. They said automatic billing. Fun. Please, if you like to keep the food in your frig cool, do not sign up with them. I beg you...do not. In the state of Texas there is a window of 10 days notice before cutting off you electricity. The notice got to my house on the 22nd and no lights on the 30th. But, since the bill was due on the 16th and the notice mailed on the 19th they claim that they are within their rights. My question is who wants to be treated by their electric company this way? I don't. And do you really want to risk coming home to no lights for missing a payment by a few days? I think not.

Just Energy used to be "US Energy" but they changed their name due to the bad name they earned in the market place from lawsuits and complaints to the Public Utilities Commission and various state attorney generals. They have an option to pay 1/2 of your bill and then pay the balance in 10 days. I phoned in and set that up only to have my electricity cut on 2 days later. I phoned in and they said they were having communication problems between the collection department and the billing department and it was an error and they would turn back on the electricity....it took them over 48 hours to get it back on during which time my food spoiled. I issued a complaint to the PUC and to show their lack of integrity Just Energy lied to the PUC saying I had not made an arrangement on my past due bill. They have no class but they are a CANADIAN company so there you go. I sued them and got the money for the spoilage. I'd stay away from them if I were you....no trust there with them.

Just Energy LIE and is a FRAUD.. I have a rental property in Houston, TX that was listed for Rental and wanted to setup temp electricity for the property. I search around; did a price comparison in Houston, Tx and found Just Energy to be the lowest. They advertised a rate of $0.04/km cents for 3 months. Talked to the sales rep; he back and left a voice message confirming that my rate $0.04/km but when the bill came out, it was $0.08/km. I called Customer Services and they give me the run around. I told them that I have a voice message with proof of my rate but they flat out denial it as said they Never Advertised that rateJust Energy is very quick to cut off your electricity. On my conversations with the Sales Rep, I told them its a rental property and to send the bill to my home but they never sent the bill there. My services was disconnected and they charge me a late fee. Frustrated, I just wanted them out; I paid-off the bill only to find out that there is another bill. For a VACANT property with 2 month of Services; I was charged $262.79(all penalties and fees were removed, after my repeated phone calls to Just Energy). I paid it off thinking it was the last time Ill hear from them; NOPE, I was Wrong. They sent me another bill for $82.86 saying that even though the services was disconnected there is still a final bill that I needed to pay. I wasnt told this when I was on the multiple phone conversations with Just Energy Rep(s). This Electric company is a Fraud and they are out to rip you off. Do yourself a favor and avoid them..

In today's day and age, they seem oblivious to technology, and every single person there is trapped in a box sized to house an M&M.
When you sign up for e-bill, you, do, in fact get a bill by email. You can do NOTHING with it, but you DO get the bill by email. There is NO link by which to pay your bill or schedule your bill. This, of course, would NOT matter, because when you DO go to their website to pay, or schedule, your bill, you CANNOT. Their "Wal Mart" 3rd party billing company does NOT receive the data to populate the bill until some 2-3 days AFTER you receive your notification. THEN, once you continue to check back for 2-3 days and are actually able to access your bill and schedule the payment, you must re-enter your payment information EVERY, SINGLE time.
For over a year I addressed these issues with them. "Add a link to the bill pay site in your email bill notification." We can't. "Delay the sending of the email bill notifications until AFTER the data has had time to populate your third party billing company's database." We can't. "At least retain my info so paying my bill is a simple click of the mouse?" We can't.
These may seem petty, but they are petty BOTH ways. Simple fixes to make the customer experience more pleasurable AND their cash flow more flowing. They CAN'T.
Nope....they WON'T.

Just Energy send people door to door with sepal to say save you money when they really just want to rip you off and get rich. Promising and good rate and then having another one on the contract they have you sign. SO BUYER BEWARE, Just Energy is nothing but a COARTIST! That $.5.99 cap, is not a cap, it is added to your monthly usages, so in my case I pay by the MCF. SO the monthly rate based on the exchange plus the 5.99 is the really almost double the rate.If You hear the word Just energy run AWAY.

I was told there was an activation fee of 100 dollars when I went to sign up for Just Energy's electricity. So when I declined they told me they would send me a 100 dollar gift card if I signed up today. So when I accepted they told me they would be sending it in the mail within 6 - 8 weeks. I thought..Cool I can just use that towards another bill. Apparently you have to send in your first bill within a month of activation and put an address on there as to where to send the gift card to. WHAT?! Just send it to the address on file? Isn't that HOME?! So them failing to tell me that resulted in me having to pay 100 extra dollars for absolutely nothing. I ended up having to move to another state and they told me I wouldn't be able to get my gift card anyways because I cancelled my services with them almost immediately after activating with them. I told them I would write a review online about how poor the communication and lack of effort on their end was in resolving any sort of issue. Not to mention the hold time was always 15+ minutes. NEVER again will I be using this company. They will be lucky to even get me to pay the final bill.

I signed up for services with Just energy but within the 3 business days that the law gives i cancelled and stayed with my previous provider. Just energy started charging from the day i signed up, even when my electricity hadnt even switched yet, and i know that because my provider at the time called me and asked me to stayed with them, and that they hadnt doen the switch yet. Well, for "3 days of service" with just eenergy, they were charging me $100. i called and they said they were not gonna debit my account and they will erase my bank info so that payment doesnt get processed just in case. Well, needless to say, my bank was deducted that amount. i called customer service several times and after 3 weeks of me calling and calling i saw my refund. however, the customer reps were rude, and because their mistake and postponing my credit to my bank account, i overdrawn my bank account. i have called customer service and ask to speak with a supervisor, and they are never available. they say they would call back, and they never do. i emailed customer service, and same thing, no response whatsoever.
it has been the worst experience. First, they charged for something that i didnt even used, then they say they will credit and will not deduct my bank and they do, and then they take forever to refund my money, and thats because i had to be calling and calling, putting up with rude people. i am just glad i didnt stayed with them, but it has costed me a lot of money just in overdraft fees because of that transaction and nvere getting my money back on time.

Just Energy is the most scandalous company I've ever dealt with. They pull up to our development with a van full of "representatives" and swarm the area, taking advantage of anyone they can. The man that came to our home scammed his way through through selling a 60 MONTH contract with rates higher than I've seen nearly anywhere under the guise that it was "such a great deal". He showed, on his phone, copies of other residents' bills to compare and demonstrate their "savings" while upselling their "green units" as a discountnot the additional fee it actually is! Buyers make sure to read every last detail on your agreements and know enough to do your homework. Their early termination fees are triple most places. They offer a less than 8 cent promotional rate online yet sell door to door residents on a 12.4 cent rate. The representative that came to our house left a fake number with us so we got screwed out of the three day grace period to cancel after trying to reach this guy to get some questions answered. HE was all smooth talk during the sell and coached to call to corporate to sign up. When I had the time, ( it took days of calls and waiting to the ONE number they provide for assistance ) and was finally able to reach their cancellation department, the woman told me if they hear a call being coached, they refuse the sign up. All I was offered was too bad lady, you signed the contract. It's pathetic these people come door to door in the evening, when people are worn out from a hard days work, tell you they're selling you one thing when the fine print says another. This man talked over the phone call the entire time so there was no way of knowing what you've really gotten yourself into until after the fact. This company is about one thing, SCREWING YOU OUT OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. If you want out, you've got to pay not only your monthly bill, but a disconnect fee in addition to $75 PER MONTH left on your contract With 59 months left on ours, that's a whole lot of money. I hope enough people will stand up against these unscrupulous tactics and get these money mongers shut down.

This past winter, when the nat. gas use was way high, Just Energy decided to charge 3 times what my local gas company was charging---somehow they got me into a variable rate account and RAPED me for over $700 for Jan and Feb. Representatives came to my home on a Monday night. Gave me a bullhorn story about how good the company was. Signed a contract that night. Decided 13 hours later that I didn't want it. Called and canceled on Tuesday morning. Thought all was well. Called my electric company on Wednesday. They informed me that I was no longer their customer. Just energy had already changed my electric company. Now I had 3days to change my mind. They didn't even wait. Then wanted to turn around and charge me $500 cancellation fee. They didn't even wait the 3 federal business days. Do not sign with them. Beware.

My husband is an idiot for going with just energy, sure the plan sounded good with no deposit needed but they screw you over in the long run with ridiculously high light bill. To top that off they charge a $55 late fee every time we pay late. An when I call in to customer service i have to wait 30 minutes to talk to someone. Best light company i have been with in the past is STREAM ENERGY. If my husband hadn't took it upon himself go with this company i would have went back to Stream Energy.

Honestly, they gave me the lowest rate then charged me 200 for just 2 weeks! Sooo many hidden charges, they charge you for everything, I've used different electricity companies and this one "just energy" is the worst. They are liars, they lie to you about rates and plans just to get you to use them and then you end up paying way too much. 200 for the first 2 weeks in my apt and I literally have barely turned on any lights or used anything, I'm not even home most of the time. We had a nice guy come by the house to promote just energy, and some how ended up being in a contract. He said it was just an estimate to see if my bill would go down. I'm mailing in the cancellation form tomorrow! He never said I was switching my energy provider! They are way more expensive than my current company. 14.1 cents/kwh is ridiculous! I don't care if its better for the planet, I can't afford that kind of rate! Just energy should instruct their sales people to really make sure their customers understand they are selling contracts...I'm so upset! There better not be any complications with my cancellation form. I don't want to switch!

I signed up with Just Energy last September, thinking I was getting a good deal, right? WRONG!!! I at first thought I could understand the high electric bills in the winter because I was using three small electric space heaters, along with one gas space heater to heat my house. However, when the cold weather left, and the only electricity even flowing through my house was refrigerator, two computers (not all the time), and one t.v. part of the time, I could not understand why my bill was still almost $300. After losing my job, then losing my unemployment benefits, I called them to try to negotiate the now $500 bill I had accrued, and was told, no problem, we'll set up a payment plan; pay $120 now and $60 on each bill for the next five months! First bill I got was $300, and the energy charge was only$65; all the rest was BS fees!!! Then I get a disconnection notice, so I called again. The electronic menu said my bill was now over $700, and when I got this little smart aleck girl with an accent on the line, she said it was $800, and that they cannot grant an extensive because I defaulted on the payment agreement!! When I asked how it went from $500 to $700 to $800 in a matter of minutes, she hung up on me. Now they want the entire $800, which I do not have, and don't know of many people who do, and I can't get any other electric service because they have put some kind of hold on me!!! ILLEGAL AS HELL!!! Just waiting for the power to be shut off at any time now, and then I don't know what I'll do.

They are dishonest. We signed up for their services by calling Just Energy number. No indications that it is third party. Conditions were negotiated over the phone. Promised rate was 11cents per kW and plan was to be fixed, not variable. My bill was close to $500 (previous bill with another company was $300). The rate on the bill showed 13 cents per kW and variable plan. Customer service talks over you and explains that you've talked to the third party and they are mot responsible for the errors or omissions. I switched immediatelyto my previous energy provider. Just Energy is a real, certifiable scam! Be warned!

So i was also suckered into signing up with just energy...Man came to my door step talking a good deal thi that and the other and i signed up and so far i havent seen my bill lower then 250! Now if i cancel early i will have to pay 500 dollars plus what ever the last bill is that i owe. I cant afford a 250-375 dollar bill every month. So they advertise on their website your rate plan signing up could be as low as 8.7 so i asked about that and she goes thats only for the first month! What! i should have stayed with txu atleast my bill never exceed over 200 dollars. This place is ridiculous and i strongly recommend you stay far far away from it. Never trust a man that comes to your door step and trust his word. Always always always do your research before you commit to something. Wish i did.

Salesman called about two months ago, talk real quick about lowering my rate for my new business. He was advertising a .0660 rate on kilowatt hours. My rate is .0660 alright but the fees assessed on the bill are triple the amount of energy used. The salesman also stated there was no contract which I thought was a great idea. After signing up, being dissatisfied I called and low and behold a 5 year contract. That seems a little excessive so I asked about termination fee the guy told 1400.00 to cancel early . This company if you can call them that should be just down they are a total scam.

The initial sales call was great. The salesperson was very pleasant. All part of the scheme I suppose, because she forgot to mention that while your energy charge is low, the other charges will be ridiculously higher despite how much energy you use. However, she was sure to record everything that she did mention that sounded like a great plan for any small business. I received a bill for $230 before I even moved into the space. Just received the 2nd bill. The charges that they said would only appear in my 1st month's bill are now called something else on my second bill. Called about that and they had this story about power spikes and that's what causes it. Well I haven't really plugged anything up yet because I'm still getting situated. I can't imagine how much the bill will be when I am really up and running.0 out of 5 Stars - My rate for the plan, pricing and promotionAdvice - Find another electric company for commercial service. Residential may be ok.

Sales pitch is a lie and should actually be sued for fraud.
Introduction rate is reasonable. Was told that indexed price was very similar to introduction rate. With gas and oil price dropping, I believed that my bills would actually go down.
To get an idea of actual rates per month, take their promo rate and multiply by 1.5.
One of the most expensive rates per KW. While some plans offer 8.8 cents per KWatts, I am paying over 12.5 even during this period where oil barrel is less than 50 USD. A real ripp off

I am so very disappointment and embarrassed I was tricked into signing up with y'all for my electric service. The man whom I spoke with told me everything I wanted to hear. I wrote down two pages in my notebook of things he was saying and my dad was listening right next to me. And it seems to be now that everything I circled and starred - isn't the truth. The man on the phone SOLD me into using y'all for two reasons - no cancellation fee because I was not sure how long I would need an electric company, as I am getting married and we were not sure of the future living situation and second because even though the fixed rate was higher than most, it would never change and end up being cheaper than the other companies. Wow was I wrong - I am now aware he signed me up under a FIVE year contract. Five. I would never in a million years have agreed to that had I known. As I stated before, the reason I was so attracted to y'all is because it was going to be an easy out if needed because of my uncertain future living situation. And now I find out I have to pay almost $400 to get OUT of the contract that I wasn't aware I was in. $400? Really? Why would I sign up for something if I was going to have to pay that hefty of an exit fee. Yes, it's a hot month but I am the most frugal person on the planet with electricity. It's off during the day and nothing is on or plugged in unless needed. And it was $50 for two weeks. Two weeks - that is outrageous. I am sad I was tricked into falling for this company for all the wrong reasons. I will be leaving as soon as I can save up enough money to cancel. I'm sad this is how you get customers. And for a "customer is our number one propriety" type business you really should be 100% sure that you are being straight forward and honest before they end up in a 5 year unwanted contract.

5 year contract and 3 year buyout of 300 after 12 months???
I called them today to see what my usage per month was and the guy could only look back 4 months and had to add it up manually. Then found out I'm 12 months into a 5 year contract paying a whooping 11.5 cents per KWH. They've got to be crazy, I don't sign up for car notes for 5 years let alone electricity for an apartment I'll be out of after this next 12 month lease. I use a little over 1,000 KWH and the going plans are much cheaper and have a 12 month contract. Somehow I was scammed and I'll be breaking this contract ASAP!!11

I called in May and told them i wanted my service ended on June 30 and did not want to renew my contract with them. Even though I did not renew my contract with them they say I wasn't specific enough about cancelling services. I said i didn't want to renew my contract on June 30, how could that mean i still wanted electricity! additionally i never answered any of their subsequent emails and phone calls about renewing the contract. When i got my bill for July, when i wasn't living at the address, i called in and asked them to withdraw the bill and they said the could not unless i proved to them that i called in and cancelled. how am i supposed to do that months later?? a ridiculous waste of my time. i will not be using them again in the future!

I Was Misinformed/Lied To by Just Energy Door to Door Salesman
Just Energy Energy Adviser (saleman) comes to my door, and long story short, asks to see my Electric bill from old provider and tells me, "See this 4.1 cents per KWH, this is what your paying just for electricity. Now look down here. See this 10.6 cents per KWH? This is what you're actually paying for electricity after the delivery fees and all other fees and charges, and taxes are added in. 10.6 cents is what you're actually paying for electricity in total. With Just Energy that amount is 9.5 cents."This was the lie (either intentional or not). 9.5 cents is what I paid for electricity and delivery bundled together BUT on one of my bills the overall charge for electricity was 13.5 cents per KWH.The sales guy was either not trained correctly and didn't know what he was talking about or he straight up lied to me. In either case I feel I was scammed.I quit Just Energy after 3 months and when I got my last bill they add $150 to it for reimbursement of the $150 they gave me in Billing Credit to compensate me for the $150 Early Cancellation fee my last provider had charged me.When I called and explained the story above and asked that they waive that reimbursement repayment, I was told that I agreed to the contract on the phone (J E guy called in the the order and then put me on the phone to agree to the terms). Being that the J E guy was comparing my old total charge of 10.6 cents to their 9.5 cents I obviously assumed that that 9.5 cents per KWH was what I was going to pay in total and agreed to the terms on the phone. And when they read you the terms it's like one of those overly wordy agreement statements you're suppose to read (but nobody ever does) before clicking the box agreeing to the terms of whatever it is your signing for.I FEEL LIKE I WAS TOTALLY SCAMMED

NEVER recommend to anyone! I was told this company would offer good pricing and was reliable. THAT is the ultimate JOKE! I used them for a total of 5 months only. The last bill was outrageous and when questioned they were unable to assist. They even had customer contact their electrical provider instead of them handling the situation. The meter readings did not match up in the least from previous months. I was given at least 3 different ticket numbers, spoke to managers and was given false promises of matter to be handled. They never returned calls and of course did not change ONE penny of the original bill which is a FRUAD. I would never recommend them to anyone stay away from this company and their terrrible customer service.

I moved after two years of service. I sent a letter stating my forwarding address along with last date of service. They added an early exit fee of 175.00. I called and they informed me that it had to be called in and the letter was not sufficient then added this exit fee as a result. Who ever heard of such a ridiculous thing? No one. I signed for free nights. My first bill was $64.00 for 5 days! They were charging me 11.5 per kWh. My next bill for a month's service was $386+! When I called to ask about the $146.87 "pass thru" charge that was not on my first bill, the rep ignored my question and copped an attitude. When I signed up for the service, no one mentioned that charge I switched back to my former plan where I pay 9.6'per kWh. Just Energy is a ripoff. I requested that my service be transferred to my first apartment-- this was not done correctly and an error made on the end of Just Energy-- that error cost me $100 in fees.Then I had to move again due to Hurricane Harvey and requested that service be transferred again-- once again not done correctly-- error on behalf of Just Energy and once again resulted in another $100 in fees. Each time I call-- I get the runaround-- no one seems to know what is going on. I am told that some one will call and NO CALL OR RESOLUTION TO DATE. This has been going on for months now. Im a home health care provider who is caring for an 81 year old man on hospice and i got him set up for the 90$ flat rate plan due to his oxygen usage and his bills being over 100$ just about every month. We both live in south texas where it barely gets to freezing. He lives alone in a small apartment. I was not informed on my client not getting the 90$ flat rate plan until two billing cycles had went by and when i explained it to the rep. He didnt care had no compassion what so ever. He couldve atleast apologized for the first rep who set the flat rate plan up. I understand how frustrating it is to work in billing i use to do the same for a cellphone company but you always had to show compassion and hold your composure. Hope that rep has a better day and learns what customer service really is.

Been with just energy 4 years and never had a problem until December when I moved in another apartment after hurricane Harvey. My first bill was for $483 dollars my first Month and I nearly had a heart attack! I'm a disabled veteran on limited fixed income and this bill is more than I pay for my rent. I only have my TV on most of the time although I had to use the Heat during this Bad cold spell in December and January which was unusual in Texas. I set up a payment plan for a hundred dollars to keep the lights on and still my lights were disconnected! Every time I called it was nearly an hour wait and the people you deal with are rude and cop attitudes when their lies are exposed and they just hang up on you! Got a new bill this month with an extra $100 fee for the false disconnection I thought I had already explained as being false. My bill is now $666 dollars the number of the beast which they are exactly that. My apartment is one bedroom townhome but I'm afraid I will have to move yet again because they will continue to gouge my eyes out over ridiculous charges that have no basis in reality. Say a prayer and don't deal with these crooks or you will be freaking possessed by high electric prices

I was sold on a contract and I have had to call once every second month to complain about charges and fees that were not fairly and openly disclosed during the sales spiel. I have a 1000 sq foot apartment, and for the month of January 2018 my bill is $298. Sure it was cold and I ran the heat, but not $300 worth. I live in a 1000 sf home in Hopkins County, TX. My current Just Energy bill is $599.01 for 1/11/2018-2/09/2018 showing 1701 kwh usage. Prior bill was $460 for 2240 kwh usage. The amount per kwh contract shows I am being charged never equates to the dollar amount shown on bills I have received since starting with Just Energy. Just Energy is not a reputable company.

This is an absolutely sick sick sick energy company. They do not read your meter for energy consumption, what they do is they average what they think you're going to use based on average consumption around your neighborhood and apply the fictititous energy costs to you, Do not i repeat do not fall for whatever ridiculous teaser rates they have. They have ridiculous charges to make up for it. I understand energy companies are all about the fine print, but with just energy it is beyond ridiculous. My energy usage apparently quadrupled in months in which i was never at home. My january 2017 bill read about 1.5KWH, a time in which i was always at home because i had lost work. This year my january and february elec bill read almost 3KWH, and I am never at home 6 out of the 7days of the week. Thats why I say they do not read meters. This is an abhorrent company and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. They are absolutely disgusting

In the summer of 2017, Just Energy had a booth/table at HEB in Sugar Land on Highway 6. Just Energy was promoting an electricity plan of "Free Nights 9pm-7am and a rate of 9.3kwh." They were handing out cards with this info on it. I still have the one they gave me. I signed up with Just Energy through the use of an IPAD. Somehow, the IPAD converted my plan to something else. Just Energy made a bunch of excuses and said that I signed for the Free Nights 9.3 promotion and that the bait and switch contract would get fixed. I then started dealing with a supervisor who eventually cut my bill in half in the beginning to try and fix the problem. Her name is Elena Cuellar. She acknowledged in emails that my issues needed to get fixed and that Just Energy didn't have a program to determine how much electricity was used at night versus during the day. This October 2017 email is the last email she sent until May 2018. I've been a customer for 5 years pay my bills on time and never had any problems until the last couple of months. Customer service fail to follow through on the contract that I needed to place after mine expired. They said they call me they never did and they never left a message and called me a liar as to a new contract in new rates. I've called several times they have gouged me on my last bill because I didn't have a contract and they charge me $0.16 per kilowatt which I find very disgusting. All my other bills were at 12 and 13 cents per kilowatt I will never do business with anybody that treats me like you have treated me again. I called and requested a rewrite change on my last bill because I do live on Social Security and I can't pay the whole bill if that gouging rate. I have never been so insulted in my life do not ever do business with these people they told me no unless I sign a new contract at an outrageous and they have no good plans available I've already been offered a better plan with $100 signing bonus. Never been so disgusted my life with an electrical provider don't ever use these people and don't believe all the good comments

They are only good as long as your promotion is good, once your promotion is over, be ready to have what I call rip off. My monthly bill would normally be below 100 for a 3 bd house, after the 12 months contract, my bill went up to 300s and my current 2 months bill is 632. They also have the worst customer service. When you place a call, be prepared to wait for over 10 minutes to be serve and even when you get a chance to talk to someone, they are not helpful either, often times, you will get hang up on and have to start over again, very frustrating dealing with them to solve an issue. Comparing my experience with other companies, I would not recommend them based on what I did hit with.

Faulty Loopholes Double the Bill
My bills with Just Energy have skyrocketed due to an expired contract. The total for the last three months was $622 and I live in a one bedroom apartment and I keep the temperature at 70 degrees. According to the Public Utility Commission of Texas website, which is linked below, "retail electric providers are required to notify residential customers at least 30 days before a contract expires". I was told by their costumer service representative, that Just Energy no longer sends out formal notification letters 30 days prior to expiration, instead they include the expiration date on the monthly bill, which is in a very obscure location in fine print. This practice is not an adequate attempt to notify customers that their contract is going to expire. It would appear that Just Energy is employing this faulty loophole to increase the likelihood that consumers will not notice or become aware of their pending expiration date, allowing the company to falsely justify charging the monthly variable rate. I have called and attempted to reach a solution with Just Energy multiple times over the course of a month, every time I am told that they are investigating the situation and that a manager will call me back but I have not been able to reach anyone or receive an answer. Their customer service representatives are unwilling to offer the previous fixed rate from our initial contract, forcing me to either continue paying their extremely high rate, or seek out a contract with another company while rates are at their highest due to summer temperatures. It is very burdensome to find time in my schedule each week and attempt to resolve the situation over the phone for over an hour, only to be told that someone will call me back. Just Energy must know this and it would seem that their customer service practices make the process intentionally difficult so that consumers will grow weary and give up on reimbursement. Went online 1/7/19 to sign up, and pay deposit of 275.00 after it processed it said order cancelled, called bank and they took that amount out of my account, immediately called customer service with order number that was assigned to me, the man I spoke to barely spoke English which worsened the situation, but he informed me yes they did charge but it's only pending and call back in the morning to see if payment went through, which it did, now agent says sees order but no payment, only a 99.00 payment made in December which u couldn't grasp because how would I made a payment when I have never had service with them again, situation worsened by not being able to speak English... Asked to speak to supervisor was refused and told no charges were made... Called bank put stop payment because what a scam and ripoff be very wary, I'm just glad I had this experience before actually getting service from this company.

I had a fixed 1 year contract and the contract was over two months ago. For the past two months, I was on a month to month plan.
I shopped for a cheaper rate and I switch to another gas provider a few weeks ago. I received my last bill from Just Energy and they charged me an EXIT FEE of $75.
I called them and talk to the CSR and she informed me thar it is in the fine imprint customer agreement that I signed some five uears ago that there is an exit fee of $75.

I recently wanted to switch electrical companies and from the sells lady everything sounds great until they shut my electricity off on a Saturday and couldnt turn it on. I called on Saturday morning at 9am to make sure they were going to switch the power over to there provider and they informed me that it would take 24 hour so I checked back at 3pm and they informed me that it would take until Monday. Well long story short lost all my father in laws insulin and about 800.00 in food. If I could of just got the truth this would not of happened I would of had my old electrical company stay on until just no energy turned it on. Negligent Practices Allow for Fraud
**FRAUD ALERT** Due to lax and negligent business practices, Just Energy has allowed a residential energy account I be fraudulently opened in my name. Despite my best efforts to seek a resolution to this matter and have the account closed, Just Energy refuses to communicate with me regarding this matter. At all costs, avoid doing business with this company. I have filed complaints with the Houston Police Department, the Federal Trade Commission, the Public Utilities Commission of Texas, and the Better Business Bureau. I am incurring ongoing financial damages due to Just Energy's delay in addressing this matter. As such, I have referred this matter to an attorney in order to pursue this as a civil matter and seek compensation for ongoing damages. I do not recommend that any person do business with this company. Due to irresponsible and negligent business practices, you may find yourself in a bad situation with no semblance of resolution. I was in my local Sam's Club and was stopped by one of there representatives. I was told the base rate being offered was 13.8 cents/kw She told me I would never see that due to the free evenings, and my average rate would be closer between 8.5 and 9.0 cents/kw. As we proceeded with the digital process, she showed me key pages seeming to confirm the base rate was 13.8 cents/kw with credit for usage during evenings between 9pm-7am. I verbally reiterated all this back to her to be sure I understood the offer and she confirmed I was correct.When I get the paperwork, low and behold, the base rate is actually 20.8 cents/kw and the estimated average will be the 13.8 cents/kw - NOT A GOOD RATE AT ALL. The sales reps of Just Energy were going door-to-door selling their services. The rep was very thoroug in explaining their service to me and told me that their service will replace PG&E that I will be paying only $16.99 a month and can use all the gas and as much as I want and my bill not increase at all. Also, I will not see from PGE annymore; all bills will be coming from Just Energy. Being on disability, I thought it was a great deal and it would help save $$$ on a monthly basis. Being on a fixed income, every penny makes a difference to people like us. Upon receiving my first bill in November from PGE, the total amount was Just Energy portion of 16.99 and PGE monthly amount. I contacted PG&E and was told that they had nothing to do with Just Energy and their services and that I will have to continue to pay PGE what they bill on a monthly basis, in addition to whatever else Just Energy bills me. I called Just Energy and besides being extremely rude and unprofessional, I was told to just ignore the portion of the Just Energy billing and continue to pay PGE. I told him that's not how it works and I have to pay the entire bill. His response was "I don't know what to tell you". Asked to speak to a supervisor, none was available. Left my name and # for a call back, nothing. Asked to cancel my account and he said he couldn't and a supervisor has to do it!!! Nothing happened! Called a few more times, no response. In March I called again and had to make threats of reporting them to FTC, BBB and my local channel and finally they cancelled my account and also for a refund for all the months I had paid them. On March 20, 2019, I received a cancellation letter from Mark Eddings, Sr. VP, Regional General Mngr. I sent them another letter on July 2, 2019 asking for my refund because what they did was so very wrong and didn't deliver what was promised and misled everyone about their service, To date have not heard a word from them. This company is a big fruad and crooked and their reps are just as crooked and unethical. After everything that I have gone through, they sent me an email "You just got 500 Perks points"! and asked for a survery and how they are doing!!!! This is the complaint sent to FTC

An agent came by and sold me Just Energy promised me the account would not be taken over from my old company until my contract with them expires which was 8-8 or 8-9. Just Energy took over before then which caused me to be billed a $135.00 early termination fee. They refuse to reimburse me because I cancelled my service with them. They say the only way I would get back that fee is if I would have remained with them or switched back to my previous provider. Just because I went to another provider that should not mean that I can not get my money back- They took over illegally. Now I have to fight this crap. Just Energy Just Sucks. FYI, if someone calls to complain about HIGH RATES, then proceeds to say, this is TOO high, I'm finding another provider.. Guess what, that is notification that they are leaving. This AM I get an email from AEP telling me my generation provider was changing next month. I call Just Energy to find out why.. 1st time calling... 1st Im told I switched providers... no, Im placed on hold. Then Im told my credit score wasnt good enough. They never checked my score, not even when I signed up almost 2 yrs ago. Then Im told my state and government decided Im not eligible for services.. At this point I hysterically laugh at the woman and tell her I use to work for an electric company and they cant do that, If she doesnt know what shes talking about thats fine I want a supervisor. She schedules me a call back for 24 to 48 hours.
I then write an email detailing all of this to see if that gets me somewhere faster. A few hours later I get a response stating Im behind in my bill and thats breach of contract. So I get on the aep app and screenshot my account history showing Im up to date and bill not even due until 10/11.
I call again. Only thing they could do is put in a request to stay on current plan that account has been proven to be current. This may take up to 2 months to be approved, but as of my next billing cycle with aep 10/23 there is going to be a change. So how does this help?
Totally screwing me around. I would prefer someone tell me they have no clue then to make a bogus excuse that is easily proven wrong!

The sales person in Sam's Club claimed the TDSP delivery charge was included in the energy charge. Since this is unusual, but not impossible, I asked about 5 different ways to try to see how she was tricking me. But why trick when you can just lie? She did trick me when I asked to see it in writing, but I was able to rescind my contract.
3 stars to customer service for being honest, but only 3 because they wouldn't accept "other written communication" and I had to scan the official form.
So the rates were alost 33% higher than PROMISED.

The rate that was listed on PA Energy was 6.39. The rate they charged me was 8.29. I spend a few hours and calls getting them to agree to charge me the 6.39 that was listed on PA Energy. My bill came and I was charged 8.29. More time and calls and I was told that was the taxes. Every other supplier I have used (and I check the rates and switched whenever my contract is up and there is a lower rate) has had the taxes included in the rate that advertise. I have switched again.

On 11/13/19, I received PA Ratings conformation, Just Energy (JE) would be my energy supplier for 12 months at 06.6900 cents/kwh.
On 11/19/19 I received a letter from Duquesne Light Company (DL) identifying Just Energy as my supplier effective 11/22/19 at a price of 08.69 cents/kwh.
On 11/21/19 I received a form letter from JE identifying the price to be 08.6900 cents/kwh.
I have received two bills from Duquesne Light (last 12/29/19) both with the 08.6900 cents/kwh price.
I called Just Energy right after I receive the Duquesne Light letter to complain about the price change. They said they would check into it. The women called me back and said it would be changed to the 06.69 cent price for the next billing. After I received the second DL bill with the higher price, I called Just Energy. This time a man (Allen) said they are aware of it and will let me know. Prior to this call, I contacted the PUC to complain about JE.
The PUC had contacted JE to investigating my complaint.
As of this writing, I have not received any notice of adjustment from either DL or JE.

Margan talked my boyfriend into getting a quote, she got our address and told him he would have to sign things to get the quote so she could sent to his phone. The day after that he received calls, texts, and emails about switching over to Just Energy he never replied. Jan 27, he received an email thanking him for his service with Just Energy. How is that possible he didnt authorize anything! Our current energy provider is in my name. How was Margan able to change anything over without an account number. Now I have 300 early termination fee and and 101.25 energy charge from my company. My boyfriend called Just Energy to only be on hold and given the run around for an hour transferred here and there. He finally talked to a representative whom stated she didnt see his authorization for the service. I hope Just Energy can rectify this situation!

I was charged $10 then after that went through, a $163.17 was charged, then again for $163.17 and then again for $152.14. Never ever spoke to anyone with regard to Just energy and weve been with our energy provider for 3 years now and see no need to switch. I also paid my energy bill 3 days prior to this charge from Just Energy and to top it off I have a long time left on my contract. I have taken the liberty to report Just energy to the (BBB) Better Business Bureau (WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO DO IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOU) and I am looking for a LAW FIRM who will represent me and the many others that have been affected by this FRAUD of a company because obviously the owners and those that have been put in charge over its companys and employees know they are scamming people with their hard worked/earned money. How do you manage to get my credit card information and attempt to charge the same card over 5 times and try and get away with it. So since you attempted to steal my money and since I have money to throw away, I will have a petition filed against you, your company and employees for FRAUD and PERJURY because you got information from me that was NOT at ANY TIME given to you or anyone who works for Just Energy. We as a consumer are protected by what is called the Deceptive Trade Practice Act and I think you need to read that act before the owners of Just Energy and its employees continue to commit this Fraud and scams. Just Energy, be prepared to spend money on some attorneys of your own because you opened a can of worms you didnt want to open. You may have scammed some elderly people or families of those that are deceased but not me. To those who have been scammed by this company, I would look into hiring an attorney, report all fraudulent charges and keep all the proof of these frauds in your possession. It will make your case stronger and they will have to pay for everything. Just Energy, you will also reimburse me for the Petition and all court costs associated with this lawsuit. You want to steal peoples money, then pay for our court costs as well?!

I signed up at Sam's Club and was told my rates wouldn't increase. THEY DID! My first bill was almost $50 higher than I would have payed if I stayed with DP&L. I called customer service last week and was told someone would contact me in 24-48 hours, I never received a call back. These people are scammers as far as I'm concerned and if I ever see them at Sam's again I'm going to warn the other customers.

New customer started with company on 2/8/2020 and receiving my 1st notice which is not an Bill but an disconnect notice which give me 3 days to pay a bill. Then stay on hold to talk to customers service to find out the number on the notice was the wrong number and then google the CRS # to be told I need to call another number cause I am existing customers then call that number which too 45 minutes. And after talking to Rep and they have my bills going to email address which is not even my email.. then he said I was on a 3 year contact. Now that even worser. Please dont allow Someone to advise you to get their service if u have not even hear of the provider before .. thinking that if the store that I have a membership with wanted set me up Failure.. please read your reviews on everything before dealing with this company

On 1/14/2020 I changed to just energy,I was promised a $45 gift card but never got it,I was promised a 11 per kwh but it turned out to be 11.92 almost 12.I was lied to and I will not keep with the 24 months contract because they didn't keep with their promise they made.Ordering they were great but after they are terrible,costumer service is terrible I don't recommend them to anybody.I will also contact Austin tx board to complain about my experince with this terrible CO.

I signed up at Sam's Club with an eager salesperson. I told him that I probably wasn't going to be in my house for very long and he assured me that it was fine--that there would be no termination fees when I moved. He also assured me that my bill would be much lower (it never dropped at all and was, in fact, slightly higher). Upon moving, I received a bill for a $50 termination fee. I tried to call to have it resolved and never got through after literally hours on hold. I then sent a private message which has, to this date, never been looked at, much less responded to. Four days after receiving the first bill, I received a second notice that I was going to be referred to a collections agency soon if I didn't pay. I just disconnected service about 2 weeks ago! I refuse to pay this disconnection fee, and am planning to file a complaint with the BBB and seek out other action. My understanding is that this company has a mountain of complaints against it. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

Where do I start. First off I've been going back and forth with just energy about my bill. I paid my bill on Friday 13th and upon checking into the bank account on Monday I saw that my payment had posted to my checking account. Well, around 12:45pm my lights get turned off for non payment. You can't reach customer service unless you sit on the phone for two hours and then you have to go to the chat. To be clear, just energy has put me through undo hardship for no reason. I moved to a new address and was told since I had not changed service providers nothing would change on my account including my account number. After four months of paying all of a sudden my old account was deactivated and now I have a new account number. I have screen shots of the conversations and of my bill payments with the old supposedly deactivated account number. My question is how was I able to pay and my lights were never disconnected. I have lost all trust in just energy and would never recommend them to anyone. And buy the way after having to pay the same payment again and a reconnect fee, I was informed that the payment that was supposed to take two to three days to so call raise from the old account to the new account had already posted. Just energy, inform your agents to be clear when dealing with your customers. By the way we had the money and could've paid the account if it had been made clear that it may cause a delay in our service. My advice, screen shot your conversations so when they try to dispute what was said to you, you can come back and let them know that you have the original conversation. Will be looking into getting a new service provider.

We signed up in our local sams club and have switched because the rates were too high. The salesman said that there would be no fees and then when we switched they charged us a exit/switch fee. They will not refund the money saying I signed the contract. Spoke with manager and they said they would take care of it. Its been a month and nothing and now my bill is overdue and nothing. They have been very hard to get a hold of and work with. They lie to people! Please dont use them! Horrible customer service!

Switched from another electricity unwillingly
I was stopped at Sams Club by your agent who tried to convince me to switch to the free weekend plan. She made me sign an agreement and gave me a date when the service will be switched. She also gave me a number to call in case I decided to stay with my company and not switch. I went home and after reviewing my bills, I decided to not switch. I called Just Energy and requested not to switched. I explained the reason. The agent put me on hold and when he came back, he confirmed that I will not be switched. What was/is my surprise when my current electricity sent me a letter saying they were sorry i was leaving !I started getting emails and statement of welcome from Just Energy ! I think that is tricking people and making them sign an agreement and not honor what they said. That is simply dishonest. I dont have time be on the phone to fix this. Im stuck with Just Energy for 36 months! Dont sign anything in the store unless you like the plan!

Right now with the Covid 19 you would think they would have more compassion on those who cant afford their bill... I ask for a day or 2 extension until my first unemployment check comes in and they couldnt do it they wanted a partial payment. If I had a partial payment I wouldnt of paid it. I am very unhappy and very unpleased after spending an hour and 45 minutes on hold to get through to speak to someone. I will be making a Switch to someone who has better compassion for others when there is a world pandemic!

Call Just Energy about my bill. My rate per kilowatts went from 9.8 to 18.3 due to not getting renewal papers. I have been with the energy company for 6 years. The factor that my bill jumped tremendously and they were not will to do anything about it. Spoke to Cynthia on 4/8/20 and she stated that it would be changed to 10.8 kilowatts and that was a lie. I called and to spoke to the supervisor on 4/11/20 and he was rude and not very compassionate. Due to the fact that with the Covid-19 going on my bill going to jump to $400.00. I feel like they priced gauged. I will be call the news and inform them of what they did. People dont have jobs right now and this what they do.

When I moved to Dallas County several years ago I picked Just Energy. I am Disabled which the company knew this.I kept my bill up to par but due to my divorce I had to call to make an arrangement. I paid when I said I would and life was good. I thought wrong I finally moved into my new home and was charged an additional $200. I still don't understand where the amount came from today. (?) So I called and asked if they would work with me mainly because my bill was almost $500. I had to speak with a Supervisor to do so. I asked her to look over my past account to see how well I paid. I was told they made changes so my past history doesn't matter. She finally worked with me and gave me an arrangement. Months later 6-9 months I received a large bill again. I was told they only do arrangements once a year. So I had to miss another bill to pay it.COVID-19 pandemic came. My bill kept going up. Finally I truly needed help due to the Entire World going through. I spoke to a rep every other day and said I would pay it Friday. Every day someone called. Finally a rep said they see my notes and its note Friday. That Friday morning my service was disconnected before 9am. When I called they didn't care. This was doing the pandemic and I am Disabled. They did not care...I am no longer with Just Energy. Be careful.

I thought I was having a good experience with this company for the last 3 years not once have I had my lights off but as soon as we are in a crisis they cut my lights off 10 days after the due date. Its not my fault Im on furlough, at least be a little more concerning instead of cutting my lights off. Thats sad I hope I can find another electric company with the same perks. Im very disappointed

Theyr'e about as greedy as a rich kid who got cut off.. i paid 1 day, i repeat 1 day late during this covid-19 bullsh*t by accident cuz i never pay attention just pay when i get paid. 4 days later i received a disconnect notice. They do not care about their customers, they are always rude as heck when i call... Usually i don't cuss but after 7 years of their bullsh*t, i expect i customer appreciation not, oh hey you're late 1 day lets disconnect your service when obviously so many people are out of work.

I always pay my bills on time. I received a collection email from Just Energy. I called their customer service on two occasions, as the first number did not work. They were zero help and could be understand me. It was a joke. They had not answer. It was like a scam. I filed a complaint with the BBB. Still no answers. We made a big mistake using this company and will switch immediately. Do not use!

My service was up thru another carrier on 5/02/2020. I called Power to Choose on 3/20/20 and they set me up with Just Energy. Down Hill after that. Just energy cancelled my confirmation twice. It was their mistake. First time was incorrect social security number. They never called to get the correct number. The 2nd time was also their error as someone forgot to change their system to completed. Again they never called. I called on 6/2/2020 to find our why I was getting bills from my previous carrier and was told the above and was lied to my my C.S. rep. in Columbia, Mayerly. I called back the following day and talked to Laura also of Columbia only to be lied to again. I called again on 6/5/20 and talked to Anna in Houston only to be begged not to talk to a supervisor. After I insisted I talked to Alex only to be told she had to transfer me to new customer set up plus I had to pay the previous cancelation and send the bill into them for reimbursement. I needed to trust her. Right! after being lied to time and time again.
